Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational/Physiotherapy Assistant Program of an accredited College or equivalent.
• Inpatient Acute Care experience.
• Current CPR certification.
• Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proven team player in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide and monitor functional restoration and exercise programs under OT/PT prescription.
• Provide timely feedback to supervising therapists regarding patient status.
• Assist in department maintenance, equipment and supplies inventory.
• Set up classes and assist with ADL treatment and wheelchair setup.
• Assist to increase mobility function and support therapy staff.
