Job summary

Quinte Health's Fracture Clinic in Belleville seeks a Registered Orthopaedic Technologist to provide hands-on care, apply casts, fit braces, and support wound care in the hospital setting.

You will work with orthopaedic surgeons and a multidisciplinary team, educating patients and families, documenting care, and pursuing ongoing professional development in a busy clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Current certification of Competence from the Canadian Society of Orthopaedic Technologists or equivalent.
• Current experience as an Orthopaedic Technologist including aseptic technique.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently.
• Proven satisfactory attendance record.
• Physical capability to manage a demanding workload.
• Criminal Record / Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Apply casts using plaster or synthetic materials and fit braces, splints, and ambulatory aids.
• Understand and apply aseptic technique in patient care.
• Remove and apply wound dressings, sutures, staples, pins, and external fixators.
• Document actions in the patient chart and educate patients and families on care.
• Supervise other health care team members as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.
