Job summary

Backwoods Security Services is seeking an experienced Security Guard for an Industrial Facility 45 minutes SE of Calgary. Local candidates to Calgary and surrounding area preferred. Night shift with a wage of $18.25 per hour and paid travel time.

Responsibilities include patrolling, monitoring surveillance, access control, reporting incidents, directing traffic, and completing daily safety reports. Alberta Security Licence and CSTS2020 are required.

Qualifications

• Alberta Security Licence is required.
• 1 year industrial security experience is required.
• CSTS2020 is required.
• Class 5 Driver’s Licence with ≤6 demerits is required.
• Standard First Aid with CPR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring premises.
• Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings and access points.
• Control access and permit entry to site as needed.
• Prevent losses by reporting irregularities and restraining violators if necessary.
• Direct traffic and manage vehicle flow on site.
• Complete daily FLHAs, DORs and IRs when required.
• Inspect Backwoods vehicles and notify Field Manager for service.
• Maintain building and equipment controls and overall environment.
• Arrive on time for shifts and communicate with on-call supervisor if unavailable.
• Able to work well alone or as part of a team.

Backwoods Security Services is currently seeking an experienced Security Guard for a team of guards at an Industrial Facility 45 minutes SE of Calgary, AB. CANDIDATES MUST BE LOCAL TO CALGARY AND IMMEDIATE SURROUNDING AREA.

Wage: $18.25 / Hour

Travel: 1 hr paid travel per day

Schedule: Night Shift

Where: Industrial Facility

The Role:

This is a Fulltime Security Guard Position at an Industrial Site 45 minutes SE of Calgary.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by patrolling and monitoring premises
• Monitor surveillance equipment, inspect buildings, equipment and access points
• Access Control: Permit authorized persons entry to site when required
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, inform violators of policy and procedures; restrain if necessary
• Control traffic by directing drivers
• Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments (FLHA’s) and Daily Occurrence Reports (DOR’s) and Incident Reports (IR’s) when required
• Inspect Backwoods vehicles, notify Field Manager when service is required
• Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls
• Arrive on time for shift. If you know you will be unable to fulfill your duties, you must communicate with the on-call supervisor ahead of time
• Able to work efficiently and effectively both as part of a team or individually

What We’re Looking For:

• Alberta Security License (required)
• 1 year Industrial Security experience (required)
• Class 5 Driver’s License with no more than 6 demerits (required)
• Standard First Aid with CPR (preferred)
• CSTS2020 (required)
• H2S Awareness (preferred)
• Objectivity, emotional control and dependability
• Able to follow complex instructions, both written and verbal
