Job summary

solis optics, a division of FYihealth group, is seeking an Optical Associate for its Victoria Uptown location. This part-time role (20–29 hours/week) offers a dynamic, supportive environment and opportunities to impact customers’ lives through eyewear.

You will greet customers, help with eyewear selections, manage prescriptions, and handle billing while working closely with an Optician to ensure proper fit and comfort. The position supports store operations and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Previous customer-facing role in retail
• Optical experience is an asset
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers (MS Office)

• Greet and welcome customers, manage check-in/check-out
• Engage with customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts
• Educate customers on eyewear options and tailor to lifestyle
• Guide customers in selecting eyewear for style and vision
• Support frame and facial measurements with an Optician
• Assist with contact lens orders
• Manage billing and payments for patients and insurers
• Deliver exceptional customer service and positive experience
• Support store operations with additional duties

We’re hiring to fill a current vacancy, join our team at Optiks International - Victoria - Uptown - partners of solis optics, as an Optical Associate!

This position is a part-timerole working 20-29hours per week. Our location is open Monday to Saturday.

What You'll Do

• Greet and welcome customers, manage customer check-in and check-out
• Engage with customers in person, by phone, and via email
• Coordinate appointments, prepare prescription printouts
• Educate customers on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring optimal value and quality
• Guide customers in selecting eyewear that combines style with optimal vision
• Support frame and facial measurements alongside an Optician, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear
• Assist with contact lens orders
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Deliver exceptional customer service to ensure a positive customer experience
• Support store operations by performing additional duties as required

What You Bring

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within a retail environment
• Previous optical experience is considered an asset
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
