Job summary

Optiks International in Kamloops is seeking a qualified Optician to join our team. You will help customers find the perfect eyewear fit, interpret prescriptions, take measurements, and assist with contact lenses while supporting daily store operations.

We value excellent patient care, teamwork, and strong communication skills. Preference given to applicants with BC registration and at least one year of optical experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in an optical setting.
• Registered Optician in British Columbia.
• Proficient with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patient focus.

We're hiring to fill a current vacancy and join our team at Optiks International in Kamloops – Victoria Street – a partner of solis optics, as an Optician! In this role, you’ll help customers find their perfect fit in a fun, supportive, dynamic and rewarding environment, making a meaningful impact on people’s lives – one frame at a time. This is a full‑time position (30–40 hours per week). Our clinic is open Monday to Saturday.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver exceptional customer service and educate customers on eyewear options tailored to their lifestyle, ensuring style, comfort, and optimal vision
• Interpret optical prescriptions provided by the optometrist
• Perform frame and facial measurements, ensuring proper fit and positioning of new eyewear, as well as repairs and adjustments
• Assist with contact lens fittings and process contact lens orders
• Manage billing and payments for patients, insurers and other third parties
• Guide customers in selecting eyewear that combines fashion with function
• Support day‑to‑day store operations and contribute to overall store success
• Assist with additional tasks as needed to keep the store running smoothly

What You Bring

• Minimum one year of experience in an optical setting
• Registered Optician in British Columbia
• Proficient with technology and computers, including MS Office Suite
• Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for connecting with patients and delivering exceptional patient experiences
