The Position

The Overdose Prevention Site (OPS) Coordinator supports the delivery of low-barrier harm reduction services, including delivery of drug checking service, by coordinating daily site operations, scheduling shifts, and fostering collaboration among staff, peers, and community partners. The role contributes to a safe, welcoming, and participant-centered environment by guiding OPS staff, supporting client care, and ensuring services are consistent with harm reduction, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practices.

Qualifications
  • Diploma in a human services field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coordinating services for people with lived and living experience of substance use.
  • Knowledge of harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, and culturally safe care.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict de-escalation skills.
  • Knowledge of WorkSafeBC safety programs and critical incident reporting.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check clearance.
  • Valid Drivers license and vehicle
  • Successful completion of BCCSU Drug Checking Technician Training within two months of appointment.

  • Must be physically able to safely lift up to 50lbs.
