Job summary

We are an Ophthalmology practice located in Surrey, BC and White Rock, BC. Our physician is a cataract, pterygium, and eyelid surgeon, but sees all types of general eye disorders. This role will be located primarily in our White Rock office.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English (Punjabi a plus but not required).
• Ophthalmic technician with 6+ months experience.
• Experience with Accuro EMR is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Administer auto-refractions, OCT, colour fundus photography, corneal topography, intraocular lens measurements, and visual field testing after on–the–job training.
• Check visual acuity.
• Check intraocular pressure with a tonopen or i-care.
• Administer eye drops as directed.
• Keep exam and procedure rooms tidy and stocked with ophthalmic supplies.
• Sterilize instruments using an autoclave per Fraser Health guidelines.

Job description

We are an Ophthalmology practice located in Surrey, BC and White Rock, BC. Our physician is a cataract, pterygium, and eyelid surgeon, but sees all types of general types of eye disorders.

We are looking for an outgoing personality who is comfortable in a busy work environment and thrives working with a team! This role requires a reliable individual who works with exceptional integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times. The ideal candidate is attentive to detail and accuracy, has strong organizational skills, practices patience with various client types and can work under pressure.

This role will be located primarily in our White Rock office.

Requirements for the position

• Fluency in English (speaking and writing). Punjabi considered an asset but not required
• Over 6+ months of experience as an ophthalmic technician experience
• Ideally a minimum of 6 months EMR experience. Experience with Accuro is an asset!
• Must be computer literate and able to operate a normal range of office equipment (telephone, fax, computer and photocopier).

Key responsibilities

• Providing competent administration of auto-refractions, OCT, colour fundus photography, corneal topography, intraocular lens measurements, and visual field testing (after on the job training).
• Checking visual acuity
• Checking intraocular pressure using a tonopen or i-care.
• Must be comfortable administering eye drops as directed.
• Keeping exam and procedure rooms tidy and stocked with eye drops and other ophthalmic supplies.
• Use of autoclave to sterilize instruments following Fraser Health guidelines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
