Job summary

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. seeks a Skilled Operator, Production to assist in manufacturing and finishing/packaging of cheese in the Friulano/Feta department, reporting to the Supervisor, Production in Tavistock.

This full-time, permanent role runs Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 7:30pm, with opportunities for growth and rate increases. You will lead staff, ensure HACCP, proper sanitation, and comply with SOPs; operate equipment, record data in AS400, support the Leadhand, and work with

Responsibilities

• Complete processes related to Friulano/Feta/Table production.
• Support the Leadhand, Production, and assume responsibilities of the Leadhand as required.
• Direct staff, communicate professionally, and reassign staff as necessary (e.g., absent worker).
• Operate all Feta/Friulano production, packaging and processing equipment.
• Sanitation of all parts, equipment and department per SOPs.
• Adhere to SOPs to ensure highest quality product.
• Record data and inventory into AS400 (and after SAP implementation).
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, responsibility, initiative, and work with minimal supervision.

Overview of the Role

Saputo Dairy Products Canada G.P. is seeking a Skilled Operator, Production for an existing opportunity within our organization. Reporting to the Supervisor, Production, the Operator Skilled, Production is responsible for assisting in the manufacturing and finishing/packaging of cheese in accordance to with the standards and safety objectives established by senior management. In addition, this role will support the Leadhand, Production to provide direction and assignment of work in the Feta/Fruilano department.

Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 9:30am to 7:30pm

Salary: $29.95/hour

There are 2 salary increases in the first year of employment, with a target rate of $33.30/hour.

How you will make contributions that matter

• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures to ensure the highest quality product possible
• Accurate recording of all data and inventory entries into AS400 and be able to do so after SAP implementation
• Must demonstrate teamwork, co-operation, responsibility, initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Understands the disassembly & assembly of cheese production machinery, able to operate material handling equipment
• Ensures the efficient and effective use of equipment and material resource
• Assists in the manufacturing process and cleaning process as required
• Ensures that safe conditions exist always within the work environment; will take appropriate action to protect the health and safety of employees and comply with all requirements as stated in the Health and Safety policy
• Full participation in the HACCP program and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices
• Other duties as assigned
