Job summary

Saputo Inc. is seeking a Production Worker to support cheese production on the factory floor. The role offers up to four 9-hour shifts (36 hours/week) with 24/7 operations and on-call shifts that may lead to full-time permanent opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive movements.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and follow all food safety procedures.
• Perform manual lifting, stacking, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Set up, takedown, and sanitation of parts and equipment as required.
• Work with and near sanitizing chemicals in a clean production area.
• Contribute to the cheese manufacturing process.

Overview of the role :

As a Production Worker, you will be working in on the Production floor completing various tasks related to successful cheese production. This position offers 2-4 shifts, up to 36 hours per week. Our facility operates 24/7; on-call shift work is required. Full time opportunities will be posted and awarded by seniority as they become vacant.

Schedule: This position offers up to four (4) 9-hour shifts per week for a 36-hour work week. We operate 24/7 and you will work various on-call shifts that may lead to full-time, permanent opportunities. We post and award our full-time positions by seniority.

Salary: Starting $31.70 per hour

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Participate and learn through in-house on the job training
• Operation of production equipment, following all food safety procedures
• Perform manual lifting, stacking, and pulling (up to approx. 50lbs)
• Perform various tasks using an electric pallet jack
• Participate in the setup, takedown and sanitation of all parts and equipment when required
• Working with, and near sanitizing chemicals (i.e. high concentrations of acids and alkalis)
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Operate production equipment used in the cheese manufacturing process

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Are physically able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive movements
• Can lift up to 50LBS on a regular basis and perform physically demanding tasks
• Operate electric power jack, counterbalance & high reach forklifts, clamp truck.
• Experience is preferred, but not required
• Can work in a temperate and / or refrigerated environment
• Already have experience in production / warehousing (asset but not required)
• Learn quickly and you are responsible for your own work
• Like working as a team and communicate well with your colleagues
