Job summary

R360 Canada, a company of Waste Connections of Canada, is seeking an Operator for the Unity site. The role involves 12-hour rotating shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am) with 7 days on, 7 days off, approximately 7 km southeast of Unity. No camp or transportation provided.

You will handle plant operations, safety compliance, and equipment maintenance while supporting waste processing and water treatment activities. A valid driver’s license and safety tickets are required, with additional training

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license and successful pre-employment testing (drug & alcohol).
  • Safety tickets and boiler/treater/pumps training preferred.
  • Able to work long hours in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure plant safety and compliance with SOPs, SWP, and hazard assessments.
  • Unload trucks and manage oil emulsion, water and vac trucks with accurate record-keeping.
  • Operate treater, cooler, and tank treating equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and proper equipment operation.
  • Assist with waste processing, shaker/centrifuge operations and solids treatment.
  • Monitor water injection, filter changes and pump maintenance.
  • Conduct boiler and steam system operations and routine checks.
  • Carry out daily, weekly and monthly plant inspections.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout shifts.

We are currently looking for an Operator at our Unity Cavern approximately 7km southeast of Unity. This position will be shift work, working 7 days on, 7 days off consisting of 12 hour shifts. These rotations include dayshifts and nightshifts, hours being 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. This position does not provide camp/accommodations or transportation.

Responsibilities
  • Plant safety (i.e. ensuring that each operation is following Standard Operating Procedures and safety work procedures, SWP permitting, Hazard Assessments and Intelex items are entered in a timely manner)
  • Responsible for truck unloading, oil emulsion, water & vac trucks (paper trail)
  • Responsible for oil treating with the treater, cooler or tank treating
  • Responsible for proper equipment operation and preventative maintenance
  • Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating
  • Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance
  • Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations
  • Conducting daily, weekly and monthly plant checks
  • Performing general cleaning duties throughout the day
What We Need From You
  • A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
  • A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of pre-employment testing (drug & alcohol)
  • Special training in boiler, treater, shaker/centrifuge, pumps (all) and loader will be considered
  • Yellow iron training (loader, rock truck, skid steer, tractor)
  • Valid and current safety tickets
  • A strong attention to detail, communication skills and a profound ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
  • A proven ability to work well under a frequent amount of supervision
  • Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
