GardaWorld Cash Services in Halifax, NS seeks an Operations Supervisor (Nights) to lead and coordinate unionized staff across security operations. You will ensure compliance with policies, safety rules, and collective agreements while optimizing workflows and budgets.

The role emphasizes leadership, strong communication, and safety focus, with opportunities for career advancement within an international security company.

Formación

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with 6 or less demerits.
• Possession of a valid PAL (Firearms License).

Responsabilidades

• Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees.
• Ensure staff comply with policies, procedures, safety rules, CA and government regulations.
• Act as a resource person for all employees in the assigned territory.
• Collaborate with other supervisors to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives.
• Promote safe work practices, conduct safety audits, and attend safety meetings.
• Monitor expenditures to ensure budgets are followed.
• Investigate to resolve customer or shipper complaints.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve transport safety procedures.
• Fill-in on Armored/ATM routes when needed.
• Participate in disciplinary processes or grievance settlements.
• Carry out all other related tasks.

What you will be doing:

• Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees;


• Ensure that staff members comply with policies, administrative procedures, safety rules, collective agreements and government regulations;


• Act as a resource person for all employees in the assigned territory;


• Collaborate with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives;


• Promote safe work practices, by conducting safety audits, participating in company safety meetings, and meeting one-on-one with staff members;


• Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets;


• Conduct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints;


• Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders to determine the causes of accidents that occur during transport and improve safety procedures;


• Fill-in on Armored and/or ATM routes when needed


• Participate in the disciplinary process or the settlement of grievances;


• All other related tasks.

What we are looking for:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in personnel management in a unionized environment;


• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook;


• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with 6 or less demerits


• Possession of a valid Non-Restricted and Restricted Firearms License (PAL: Possession & Acquisitions License)


• Very good leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills;


• Strong focus on teamwork and partnership;


• Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills


• Critical thinking and active listening developed.
