Job summary

Jamieson Wellness Inc. is hiring for a manufacturing supervisor based in Windsor, Ontario. You will lead production activities, coordinate staffing, and ensure GMP compliance for tablet tooling and packaging.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement to support global health brands. The ideal candidate has 3+ years’ supervisory experience in pharma manufacturing, familiarity with GMP/WHMIS, and strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Experience supervising unionized employees is an asset.
  • Knowledge of GMP and WHMIS regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Workforce Coordination: Assign operators to daily tasks and optimize resources.
  • Production Planning: Develop daily and weekly production schedules and staffing needs.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide operations support across manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Training & Compliance: Train operators on safety, SOPs, GMP, and company policies.
  • Equipment Inspection: Ensure machines are clean, set up, and safe before production.
  • Sanitation & Housekeeping: Enforce sanitation programs to maintain standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for efficiency gains and improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Coordinate with peers and other departments.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and improve manufacturing documentation.
  • Labour & Payroll Oversight: Review labor reports and overtime submissions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor equipment and issue repair work orders.
  • Employee Performance Management: Participate in evaluations and coaching.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels of tooling and materials.
  • Ingredient Verification: Confirm ingredients are available per formulas.
  • Issue Escalation: Report challenges with recommended resolutions.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Escalate deviations to ensure quality and regulatory adherence.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce SOPs and Safety policies (GMP focus).
  • GMP Adherence: Maintain GMP standards across facility areas.

What You’ll Do

As a key member of the Operations team, you'll help shape health and wellness outcomes for people around the world.

In this role, you will:

Reporting directly to the Department Manger, you will provide leadership and direction through proper training and communication to operations personnel to meet schedules. To supervise the manufacturing and packaging of product in a safe and cost-effective manner in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.

Specific Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Workforce Coordination: Assign operators to daily tasks, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
  • Production Planning: Assist in developing daily and weekly production schedules, including staffing requirements.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide operational support across manufacturing, packaging, and warehouse departments.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot production issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Training & Compliance: Conduct initial and ongoing training for operators on safety protocols, equipment handling, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies.
  • Equipment Inspection: Ensure all machinery is clean, properly set up, and meets safety and operational standards before production begins.
  • Sanitation & Housekeeping: Monitor and enforce housekeeping and sanitation programs to maintain compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for efficiency gains and operational improvements.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Engage with peers, subordinates, and other departments to align on shared objectives.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Complete, review, and recommend improvements for all manufacturing and packaging documentation.
  • Labour & Payroll Oversight: Review and approve labor reports and employee overtime submissions.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor equipment and facilities, issue work orders for necessary repairs, and follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Employee Performance Management: Participate in employee evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions as required.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of tablet tooling, spare parts, and materials.
  • Ingredient Verification: Ensure all required ingredients are available before production begins, as specified in manufacturing formulas and packaging forms.
  • Issue Escalation: Report production challenges, providing recommendations for resolution.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Escalate deviations from Standard Operating Procedures and manufacturing/packaging instructions to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce company Health & Safety Policies and SOPs, including the Safety Responsibilities Procedure.
  • GMP Adherence: Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices across all GMP-sensitive areas of the facility.
What You Bring

You bring curiosity, collaboration, and a desire to do meaningful work. You may bring experience in:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in tablet compression and coating manufacturing, or an equivalent University/College degree in a science-related field.
  • Experience managing or supervising unionized employees is an asset.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and industry-related software.
  • Strong working knowledge of regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with validation processes is an asset.

Compensation

Jamieson Wellness offers a competitive total rewards package designed to support your well-being and professional growth. This includes base pay, eligibility for our Short-Term Incentive Program, and a comprehensive benefits offering.

For this role, the posting range is $62,900 - $94,300 which reflects the full salary range of the position. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, level of education, role scope, and other professional qualifications aligned with the requirements and complexity of this position.
