Richardson Oilseed is one of Canada’s oldest and largest fully-integrated oilseed processing and packaging operations with three facilities across Canada. In addition to producing bulk canola oil and meal, our food products division produces a wide variety of canola-based margarines, oils, and shortenings for the industrial, retail and foodservice markets.

Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility. We currently have an opportunity for an Operations Supervisor at our Lethbridge, AB location.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise daily operations and unionized staff in the Food & Ingredient Department
  2. Achieve production goals while meeting quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  3. Ensure safe and efficient execution of the daily production schedule
  4. Identify, correct, and report non-conformances
  5. Lead assigned projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
  6. Manage timekeeping and payroll in line with company policies and the Collective Agreement
  7. Participate in team meetings and contribute to departmental goal setting
  8. Coordinate with Maintenance, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams
  9. Schedule staff to meet operational needs
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary education in Operations, Engineering, or Business preferred
  2. 2–4 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing (unionized environment an asset)
  3. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  4. Experience with continuous improvement and project management
  5. Proficient in documentation, communication, and computer use
  6. Skilled in conflict resolution and conducting disciplinary meetings
  7. Familiarity with health & safety programs, HACCP, and ISO systems an asset
  8. Excellent time management and organizational skills
