A leading healthcare organization is seeking an Operations Supervisor in Grande Prairie. This pivotal role involves overseeing Emergency Medical Services staff, managing budgets, and improving service delivery. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in emergency services with strong leadership capabilities, contributing to the organization's mission and operational excellence.
You would be responsible for overseeing 20+ Primary and Advanced Care Paramedics reporting directly to the Operations Supervisor. The successful applicant may also oversee additional positions on a situational basis during hospital shifts, events, or major incidents. Responsibilities include managing the individual site’s operational budget, supplies, staffing models, and providing input on future budget needs. The role involves significant communication of strategic plans and acts as a key communication vector within the organization. In addition to a competitive pay rate, AHS offers a Remote Retention Allowance up to $3,000 annually, payable hourly for all hours worked at the basic pay rate.

The Operations Supervisor plays a leadership role within Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Reporting directly to the EMS Manager, this position is responsible for providing daily direction, leadership, and organization of EMS activities, supporting Alberta Health Services' vision, mission, and business plan. The role involves making frontline operational decisions and leading EMS teams to achieve organizational goals. The supervisor will develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including health professionals, first responders, fire rescue, and police agencies.
Required Qualifications :
Graduate of a recognized Paramedic program by the Alberta College of Paramedics and current registration in good standing. Valid Alberta Class 4 Operators License with no more than 6 demerits. ICS 100 certification.
Additional Required Qualifications :
At least three (3) years' experience in an Emergency Service role, including a minimum of two (2) years in progressive leadership within a large, complex, and diverse organization.
Preferred Qualifications :
Diploma or degree in healthcare administration, business, or leadership. Strong communication, organizational, and influential skills. Client-focused with a commitment to quality emergency medical services. Ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources. Proven partnership-building skills and experience in conflict and crisis management, ideally within a unionized environment.
