BRAYA Renewable Fuels in Come By Chance, NL, is seeking an Operations Shift Supervisor / Power Engineer (2nd or 3rd Class) to lead daily plant operations, ensure safe, compliant, and efficient performance, and supervise the Operations Technicians on shift.

The role requires a Power Engineering certificate (2nd class or 3rd class with plan to upgrade) and at least 5 years of industrial supervisory experience; strong communication and leadership skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering Tech Diploma with Power Eng. certificate 2nd class or 3rd class and plan to upgrade.
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Pass pre-employment medical; strong communication and mentoring ability.
• Commitment to health, safety and environmental excellence.
• Knowledge of refinery operations or industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily plant operations during shift for safe and efficient performance.
• Supervise technicians and coordinate with contractors for maintenance.
• Document data in CMMS and prepare monthly reports.
• Provide coaching and feedback; support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Operations Shift Supervisor / Power Engineer (2nd or 3rd Class):

The Operations Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating daily operational activities within the plant during their assigned shift. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operation of all units and supervises the Operations Technicians and related personnel and provides leadership, guidance, and direction to operations personnel on shift. The Shift Supervisor is a key leader in maintaining operational integrity, responding to incidents, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

• This position will provide overall supervision to Renewable Fuels operations team to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of various process units and utilities
• Ensure employees are in compliance with all Company policies/procedures and safety regulations
• Supervise, coordinate, and plan activities for your team, and work with contractors
• Preparing and entering data into various information systems (i.e., work order history, employee time details, monthly reports, discipline, etc.
• Developing and promoting a positive employee relations environment within the department
• Reviewing employee’s performance and providing appropriate feedback and coaching
• Perform additional duties as assigned
• Ensure equipment is prepared for maintenance as required
• Coordinate Operation activities with NARL Logistics

Qualifications:

• Engineering Technology Diploma, Power Engineering Certificate 2nd class or a 3rd class ticket with a commitment to achieve a 2nd class in a reasonable time frame.
• Minimum 5 years industry experience (Supervisory experience would be an asset)
• Must pass pre-employment medical
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively train and mentor employees
• Motivated and hard working with a professional attitude
• Exemplary record in Health, Safety, and Environment is essential
• Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities and ability to meet deadlines
• Computer literacy (an asset), i.e., Microsoft Office and (Computerized Maintenance Management System) such as Maximo or SAP
• Comprehensive knowledge of refinery operations or Industrial background

Physical Demands:

• Regularly lifts/moves object up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lifts/moves >50lbs. Push/Pulling forces up to 50lbs are required.

• Use of gross and fine motor skills; constant use of hand tools that require accurate control and steadiness and maintaining physical balance (e.g. Ladders/scaffolding).
