Job description

Operations Manager, Insurance Brokerage Type: In-Office/Hybrid | New Brunswick

About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and growing independent insurance brokerage with a strong regional presence across New Brunswick. With multiple offices serving communities throughout the province, the organization has built its reputation on trusted advice, personalized service, and long-standing client relationships across both personal and commercial insurance. This is an exciting time to join the organization as it continues to grow and evolve. The brokerage is focused on strengthening its operations, investing in its people and technology, and building on a strong foundation of community relationships and industry expertise.

As Operations Manager, you will have the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a meaningful role in shaping the future of the organization. This is a broad leadership position that goes well beyond day-to-day administration, offering exposure to people leadership, operational strategy, business development, technology, and organizational growth. For an experienced insurance professional who is ready to broaden their impact and take the next step in their leadership career, this role offers the opportunity to become a key member of the leadership team and grow alongside an expanding brokerage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership: Provide oversight and leadership of daily brokerage operations across multiple locations, ensuring teams have the support and resources needed to perform effectively. Identify opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and organizational effectiveness while maintaining a strong focus on client service.
  • People Leadership & Development: Support employee engagement, recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance management. Build a positive, collaborative culture by providing coaching, guidance, and leadership to employees at various levels of the organization.
  • Strategic Partnership: Work closely with senior leadership to support business decisions, organizational priorities, and strategic initiatives. Bring sound judgement and practical insight to discussions surrounding the continued growth and direction of the brokerage.
  • Business Development & Growth: Contribute to business development initiatives, relationship management, and opportunities to expand the brokerage's presence in the market. Support initiatives designed to strengthen client relationships and position the organization for continued growth.
  • Technology & Process Improvement: Support the adoption of new technology and identify opportunities to leverage systems and processes to improve efficiency. Help lead organizational change initiatives and ensure teams are supported throughout periods of growth and transition.
  • Organizational Collaboration: Foster strong communication and collaboration across offices, departments, and leadership. Balance strategic priorities with hands‑on involvement in the day‑to‑day needs of the business.
Qualifications
  • Education & Experience: Proven leadership or management experience within insurance, financial services, professional services, or a comparable environment. A strong understanding of insurance brokerage operations and the ability to effectively lead teams and competing priorities. New Brunswick Broker License with CAIB designation.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable working with insurance brokerage technology, systems, and evolving digital tools. Strong understanding of operational processes and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and greater efficiency.
  • Key Competencies: Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship‑building skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop people. Strong business acumen, problem‑solving ability, and sound judgement. A collaborative, practical, and hands‑on leadership style. Ability to move comfortably between strategic planning and day‑to‑day operational priorities. A proactive mindset and genuine interest in taking on increasing leadership responsibility.
Why This Opportunity?
  • Leadership Exposure: Work directly alongside senior leadership and have a voice in important business decisions.
  • Meaningful Impact: Play a key role in strengthening operations and helping shape the future of a growing brokerage.
  • Broad Scope: Gain exposure across operations, people leadership, business development, technology, and strategic planning.
  • Leadership Growth: Build your experience and influence with the potential to grow into an increasingly senior leadership role.
