Job summary

DGA Careers in Montreal, QC, is seeking a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker for a permanent, full-time role.

You will manage a $1 million book of business, handle renewals and endorsements, and negotiate terms with carriers. After training, remote work is possible with a hybrid schedule during that period.

Qualifications

• AMF license in Personal and Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance.
• At least 2 years of experience as a Property & Commercial Lines broker.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Strong customer service, autonomy and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage a ~$1 million book of business with an assistant.
• Handle policy renewals, endorsements and policy changes.
• Answer client inquiries with high-quality service and advice.
• Negotiate terms with various insurers.
• Work with a client portfolio ~90% personal lines / 10% commercial lines.
• After 1 year, build your own book and earn 50% of commissions.

Job description

• Permanent, full-time position, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
• Salary starting at $70,000 per year, depending on experience;
• 100% remote work after the initial training period, with a hybrid schedule of 2 days per week in the office during training;
• Group insurance coverage from the first day of employment, including dental, disability, prescription drugs, etc., with 50% employer contribution;
• Group RRSP with a 2% employer contribution;
• Paid sick days and a paid day off on your birthday;

Your Day-to-Day

• Manage an approximately $1 million book of business for the producing broker, in collaboration with an assistant;
• Handle policy renewals, endorsements and policy changes;
• Answer client inquiries and provide high-quality service and advice;
• Negotiate terms and contracts with various insurance carriers;
• Work with a client portfolio consisting of approximately 90% personal lines and 10% commercial lines;
• After one year, have the opportunity to gradually build your own book of business, if desired, and earn 50% of the commission generated.

About You

• You hold your AMF license in Personal and Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance;
• You have at least 2 years of experience as a Property & Commercial Lines Property & Casualty Insurance Broker — commercial experience is not required;
• You are bilingual in French and English;
• You are recognized for your strong customer service skills, autonomy and ability to build trusting relationships with clients;
