Job summary

TreeHouse Foods in Brantford, ON is looking for an Operations Manager to lead the production floor, overseeing supervisors, operators and workers to ensure smooth daily operations. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred in manufacturing, industrial technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years in a production or food manufacturing environment, with at least three years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control procedures, and inventory management.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to production supervisors and team members, assign tasks, and ensure targets and schedules are met.
  • Coordinate production workflows, monitor lines, and ensure equipment and materials are available.
  • Lead safety initiatives and promote safe work practices across the site.
  • Develop and implement food safety and quality initiatives.
  • Drive CI/LEAN efforts and encourage employee engagement and teamwork.
  • Monitor worker performance and provide constructive feedback including corrective actions.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues with quality control and engineering teams.
  • Monitor processes to prevent defects and minimize waste.
  • Oversee maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain a clean, organized production area compliant with health and safety regs.

Job Description
About the Role

As an Operations Manager, you will be a key player in shaping a supportive and engaging work environment for the Brantford, ON, plant, a manufacturer of quality griddle products. Your role will directly impact the success of the site by ensuring smooth production operations, by overseeing and managing the daily operations of the production floor.

You will lead a team of supervisors, operators, and workers, focusing on maximizing productivity, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high safety and quality standards, making a meaningful difference in the day-to-day experience of employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to production supervisors and team members, including assigning tasks and ensuring production targets and schedules are met.
  • Coordinate production workflows, monitor production lines, and ensure equipment and materials are available.
  • Actively participate in all employee safety-related activities, fostering an environment that values and insists on safe work practices.
  • Provide leadership in the development and execution of food safety and food quality initiatives.
  • Champion Continuous Improvement (CI) activities and foster an environment of employee engagement, empowerment, and teamwork, particularly in relation to CI, LEAN, and other change-driven areas.
  • Monitor and evaluate worker performance and provide constructive feedback, including corrective actions as needed.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues, collaborating with quality control and engineering teams as necessary.
  • Monitor production processes to prevent defects and minimize waste.
  • Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and machinery to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Ensure the production area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Important Details
  • This is a full-time, on-site role on First Shift, Monday through Friday. Occasional flexibility is required to support alternate shifts and weekends.
  • The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $94,400.00 - $141,600.00 CAD annually. This is the low-to-high salary range we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation, bonus and equity pay.
