Job summary

Ryder is seeking an Operations Management Trainee in Dartmouth, NS. The role supports shop management, cost-saving initiatives, customer retention, and metrics-driven projects across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental.

The trainee will coordinate PM scheduling, track repairs, and collaborate with maintenance teams to optimize costs while developing skills in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1+ year in customer service with issue resolution preferred.
  • Strong PC skills including spreadsheets and document processing.

Summary

The Operations Management Trainee will support the shop management process and assist in cost savings, customer retention, and metric-based initiatives. This requires the Management Trainee to work cross functionally across Operations, Asset Management, Sales, Quality, and Rental.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible for the customer relationship activities by providing quality customer interface, proactive customer management, issue resolution, and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with the rental department to ensure maximum utilization without compromising lease customers.
  • Partner with Sales staff on customer calls for new business and increased customer satisfaction.
  • Manage running costs and maintenance overheads.
  • Ensure policy and processes are followed to optimize running costs and maintenance overhead.
  • Accountable for coordinating with Maintenance, Asset Management, Sales and Marketing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate PM scheduling and follow up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; oversee Technician work planning for efficiency, training, and flexibility.
Additional Responsibilities

Relocation within the business unit at the conclusion of the training program is required. Performs other duties as assigned.

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type.
