Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Supervisor (Day Shift) in Mississauga. The role leads daily shift operations, supervises machine operators, and ensures safe operation and maintenance of plant utility systems.

You will oversee boilers, chillers, pumps, and PM schedules, drive continuous improvement, coach operators, and maintain production schedules while complying with safety regulations. A licensed engineer and leadership experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active 4th Class Operating/Power Engineering License (TSSA certified).
• 3+ years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing or similar environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with boilers, chillers, pumps, and continuous process loops.
• Ability to lead a floor-focused team with coaching mindset and strong communication.

Responsibilities

Operations & Maintenance Supervisor Day Shift

Location: Mississauga (WEST)

Shift: Day Shift (Permanent, Full-Time)

The Operations & Maintenance Supervisor plays a vital dual-function leadership role on the production floor. This position is directly responsible for leading daily shift operations, supervising machine operators, and overseeing the safe maintenance and operation of plant utility systems (boilers, chillers, compressors, and continuous process loops).

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical background in power/stationary engineering alongside proven floor leadership, ensuring peak equipment reliability, safety compliance, and production throughput.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shift operations, assign tasks to machine operators, and maintain target production schedules.
• Lead pre-shift huddles, monitor KPI performance, and drive a culture of continuous floor improvement and operational accountability.
• Manage shift administrative duties including attendance, operator scheduling, and performance coaching.
• Oversee the safe, efficient operation and routine maintenance of plant utility systems, including high/low-pressure steam boilers, chillers, air compressors, and water treatment loops in accordance with TSSA regulations.
• Support first-line mechanical and electrical troubleshooting alongside operators and maintenance technicians to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, manage CMMS work orders, and maintain accurate plant logbooks.

Qualifications

• Certification: Active 4th Class (or 3rd Class) Operating / Power Engineering License (TSSA certified).
• Experience: 3+ years of leadership experience in an industrial manufacturing, packaging, chemical, or continuous processing environment.
• Technical Literacy: Hands-on experience with boilers, industrial refrigeration/chillers, pumps, continuous process loops, and basic PLC/electrical troubleshooting.
• Leadership Style: Stro ng floor presence with a coaching mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage both production operators and maintenance tasks.
