Role Overview

Our client seeks a dynamic Operations Engineer to lead engineering workflows, support daily operational execution, and ensure seamless integration of engineering and site activities. This hybrid role combines process engineering, commissioning, operational responsibilities, and leadership exposure. The position is based in Calgary during the engineering phase, transitioning to a rotational schedule at the Saskatchewan site for construction, commissioning, and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a solution-focused mindset, and a drive for continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Engineering & Technical Support
2. Provide operational engineering support to project design and execution teams
3. Develop and lead readiness plans for transitioning from project to operations
4. Contribute technical input to construction and commissioning planning
5. Participate in developing lab and MOC (Management of Change) processes
6. Liaise with licensors and project engineering teams to ensure operational alignment

2. Monitor and optimize process performance for efficiency and safety
3. Support start-up, testing, and commissioning activities with hands-on engineering oversight
4. Ensure operational integration of engineering designs
5. Act as the technical point of contact for deliverables, milestones, and performance tracking

3. Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards
4. Support documentation and reporting per operational standards

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation required
• At least 7 years of engineering experience, with exposure to operations preferred
• Experience in commissioning or start-up projects is a strong asset
