What's The Team Like

The Terminal Operations team sits at the heart of the airport experience, collaborating with internal teams, tenants, airlines, and partners across the airport community to deliver a smooth, memorable journey for every passenger. From shaping long-term operational strategies to keeping pace with the airport's daily rhythm, this team balances big-picture thinking with real-time action - managing programs, responding to events, and solving challenges as they arise. Their work directly influences the success of each day’s operations and supports YYC Calgary Airport's reputation as one of Canada’s leading airports.

What Are Some Of The Responsibilities
  • Provide operational coordination for major terminal and infrastructure projects, ensuring project activities align with safety requirements, terminal operations, and passenger needs.
  • Review project scopes, drawings, schedules, phasing plans, and work packages to identify operational impacts, access constraints, passenger-flow risks, signage needs, and dependencies before work begins.
  • Active collaboration with project managers, contractors, airlines, tenants, and internal teams to support construction activities within the terminal, ensuring projects are coordinated with minimal disruption to airport operations.
  • Track project actions, decisions, risks, issues, and operational readiness requirements; elevate conflicts and follow through on assigned items to closure.
  • Develop operational documentation, stakeholder notices, passenger communications, temporary wayfinding, and contingency measures for construction phases, cutovers, and irregular operations.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, operational readiness, and handover activities to confirm new or modified spaces, systems, and processes are ready for operational use.
  • Assess project outcomes and current practices to recommend improvements that strengthen operational efficiency, passenger flow, and the terminal experience.
What Do You Need To Bring
  • You'll need to be eligible to obtain and maintain a RAIC, don't worry - we'll help you through this! For more details, check out: RAIC Program and Application Information
  • Post-secondary diploma in a related field such as aviation, business administration, analytics or a related discipline is required. Alternatively, a high school diploma combined with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1-3 years of experience in coordinating complex operations and/or infrastructure projects or project management, preferable in airport operations, or a similarly regulated, operational environment. This includes managing operational workflows, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and coordinating personnel and equipment across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, analyze, research and manage conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written communication skills supported by demonstrated experience producing accurate, detailed documentation. Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
