Job summary

Calgary Airports is seeking a Project Manager to lead delivery on technology and infrastructure projects within its Project Delivery team. The role involves creating robust project plans, charters, and budget management for multiple stakeholders, regulators, and partners.

A focus on risk management and cost control is required to ensure successful outcomes. The ideal candidate has 6–8 years of PM experience, a related bachelor’s degree, and proficiency with MS Project or Primavera.

  • 6 to 8 years of experience in project management, with a focus on infrastructure, construction, or technology projects.
  • Experience with project budgets of $5M and managing aspects of larger projects as directed by a senior PM/Director.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engagement with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with financial management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop project charters and report progress to internal clients, supervisors, and stakeholders.
  • Act as the central point of contact for project information distribution with project partners and agencies.

  • Manage all project costs, budgets, tracking, and monthly cash flow forecasting.
  • Contribute to Annual Capital Program planning for restoration, expansion, or new tech implementations.
  • Coordinate Construction Tender activities with Supply Chain and Accounting departments.

WHAT’S THE TEAM LIKE

Our Project Delivery team is responsible for delivering both technology and business projects, as well as providing input to project and portfolio planning. We are a high-performing group which focuses on executing projects that connect business needs with process and technology solutions to drive seamless and innovative airport experiences.

WHAT ARE SOME OF THE RESPONSIBILITIES Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, cost estimates, and resource allocation.

Develop project charters with internal clients, report progress to internal clients, supervisors, and other stakeholders as required.

Act as the central point of contact for all information distribution regarding a project including extensive communication with the numerous project partners and participants (i.e. regulatory agencies, government, emergency services and internal departments) that may be affected by specific project activities.

Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including operations teams, regulatory bodies, contractors, and consultants, to ensure project requirements are clearly defined and met.

Identify potential risks during project charter phase and implement risk management plans to minimize their impact.

Responsible for the management of all costs on individual projects and all elements within a project including establishing project budgets, tracking and updating project costs, and forecasting monthly cash flows for each project.

Participate in the development and planning of the Annual Capital Program, with a focus on the physical restoration, expansion of facilities, or implementation of new technologies at both airports.

Plan, organize and deliver the activities related to Construction Tenders through collaborative work with the Supply Chain and Accounting departments.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

6 to 8 years of experience in project management, with a focus on infrastructure, construction, or technology projects.

Experience with projects budgets of $5M and in managing some aspect(s) of larger projects as directed by a more senior Project Manager/Director

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and familiarity with financial management tools.

Proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong commitment to achieving project objectives.

WHAT ADDITIONAL SKILLS ARE AN ASSET

Bilingual in English and French

Professional designation such as P. Eng. or PMP or in progress is highly desirable.

Experience working in the aviation or transportation industry is a plus.
