Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Document extra bags, overweight/overfilled containers, and other conditions with timestamped photos.

  • Identify recurring overages and flag for follow-up and upsell opportunities.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Operations Compliance Specialist to join our Fleet team in Aurora. This role is responsible for reviewing front-end garbage truck camera footage to identify container overages and other billable service conditions, documenting findings, and applying applicable charges to customer accounts. The Specialist will work closely with Fleet, Sales, Billing, and Customer Service to ensure billing accuracy, identify recurring customer service issues, and support opportunities to optimize container sizes and collection frequencies.

Key Responsibilities
Overage & Revenue Review
  • Review front-end garbage truck camera footage and images to identify overages and other billable service conditions.
  • Identify and document extra bags, loose material, overfilled or overweight containers, and other applicable conditions.
  • Capture and maintain timestamped photo evidence to support billing and customer disputes.
  • Identify recurring overage patterns by customer, route, or location and flag for follow-up.
  • Enter and apply applicable overage, extra pickup, contamination, and other service charges to the correct customer account and invoice.
  • Work within TRUX, NAVUSOFT, and other systems to ensure accurate billing and account information.
  • Maintain complete records of charges, including customer, date, route, unit, reason code, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with billing inquiries and customer disputes by providing appropriate documentation and evidence.
  • Notify Sales when customers consistently generate overage charges or demonstrate changing service needs.
  • Support Sales in identifying opportunities for larger containers, increased collection frequency, additional containers, or other service adjustments.
  • Assist with customer communication regarding recurring overages and available service alternatives.
  • Track customer follow-up and service recommendations to support retention and upselling opportunities.
Systems & Data Management
  • Work across camera/telematics, routing, billing, ERP, and CRM systems to move information from footage review through billing and customer follow-up.
  • Ensure customer, unit, date, route, and billing information is accurate and consistent across systems.
  • Maintain organized records and report missing footage, camera issues, system errors, or data discrepancies.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare regular summaries of overage activity and charges by customer, route, unit, or other relevant categories.
  • Identify recurring trends and provide information to Fleet and Sales to support pricing, contract, container sizing, service frequency, and route-planning decisions.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in fleet operations, transportation, waste management, billing, customer service, administration, dispatch, or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable reviewing video footage, images, and large amounts of digital information.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn and work across multiple software systems.
  • Experience with TRUX, NAVUSOFT, ERP, CRM, billing, dispatch, or fleet-management systems is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating across Fleet, Sales, Billing, and Customer Service.
  • Professional and customer-focused approach when handling billing inquiries and disputes.
