Job summary

Orano Canada is seeking an Operations Accountant for a 2-year term in Saskatoon. You will oversee the McClean Joint-Venture full accounting and financial reporting cycle, including month-end close, annual statements, and budgeting in collaboration with the McClean Management Team.

The role requires a commerce degree or accounting training, strong Excel skills, and CPA progression is a plus, with SAP experience as an asset. Travel to project sites is required; Monday to Friday, 8:00-4:30.

Qualifications

• Commerce degree and/or 2 years’ accounting training and experience required.
• CPA designation or working towards CPA designation is an asset.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using SAP is an asset.
• Excellent planning, organization and time management skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee McClean JV full accounting and financial reporting cycle.

• Track purchasing performance and monitor KPIs.

Operations Accountant (2 Year Term)

Orano Canada is a leading producer in uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy!

Our finance team is expanding and we areseeking a highly-motivated team player to contribute to our company’s success in a rewarding and enjoyable environment. Reporting to the Director, Finance, this position will be responsible for all aspects of financial accounting of the mill.

What you’ll be accomplishing:

• Responsible for McClean Joint-Venture (MLJV) full accounting and financial reporting cycle including:
• Month end accounting and annual audited financial statements
• Responding to queries/requests from JV partners
• Preparation of the annual operating budget for the McClean JEB Mill in collaboration with the McClean Management Team and monthly review of performance
• Reviewing inventory provision and accounting for any sale of inventory
• Tracking purchasing performance
• Developing and monitoring key performance indicators including operational and financial metrics
• Ministry of Highways Transportation Partnership Agreement quarterly reporting and annual audit
• Monthly invoicing for Ammonium Sulphate Sales & Toll Mill Fees
• Assisting external auditors in the performance of the annual year-end audit work
• Participating in operational excellence reporting initiatives
• Perform other related tasks, as required

Qualities and skills we’re seeking:

• Commerce degree and/or 2 years’ accounting training and experience is required

Work Location & Schedule:

• Saskatoon Corporate Office
• Monday to Friday, 8:00-4:30; 40 hours/week

Salary Range:

$77,750 - $94,450

Compensation to be determined based on the selected candidate’s level of skill, education, and experience, and may vary within, the posted salary range.
