Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Operational Technology Specialist to support the implementation, optimization, and advanced support of industrial OT systems and cybersecurity solutions across their operational environments.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise across OT infrastructure, industrial networking, cybersecurity, systems integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This role will work closely with IT, Engineering, Maintenance, Automation, and Cybersecurity teams.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, optimize, and maintain OT systems and equipment according to established architecture standards.
- Integrate industrial OT systems with IT platforms and validate communication and compliance.
- Implement and maintain OT standards related to security, segmentation, resilience, and stability.
- Diagnose complex OT issues, identify root causes, and recommend improvements.
- Provide advanced technical support, including impact analysis and risk evaluation.
- Assess operational impacts on production, maintenance, quality, and safety.
- Estimate technical effort, resources, and dependencies for installations and upgrades.
- Perform and supervise hardware and software testing, including integration, communication, redundancy, and security testing.
- Identify OT cybersecurity threats, apply patches, and strengthen security controls.
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations, inventories, diagrams, and network topologies.
- Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Automation, Maintenance, and Cybersecurity teams as a technical SME.
- Ensure compliance with operational, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the transition of systems into production, maintenance, and support teams.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in OT systems engineering, industrial networking, or critical IT/OT infrastructure support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technologies, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.
- Experience with Azure, AWS, and/or GCP.
- Strong knowledge of industrial networking protocols, including: Modbus, EtherNet/IP, OPC
- Experience with firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V, or Citrix.
- Hands‑on experience with networking, servers, cybersecurity, and databases.
- Strong troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, and optimization skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and operational stakeholders.
- English required for technical documentation and supplier communication.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in industrial automation environments.
- Experience researching and evaluating technologies to improve OT stability and security.
- Strong understanding of IT architecture principles.
- OT cybersecurity or networking certifications.
