THIS IS A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE – ORT
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)/Operating Room Technician (ORT) contributes to patient assessment, planning, and quality care in conjunction with the Registered Nurse, following standards of practice set by CLPNA, ORNAC, and CSA. The LPN/ORT provides direct intraoperative care in the OR, participating in scrub and circulating roles, and helps evaluate and modify patient care for safety. The nurse acts as a patient advocate and links units with the OR.
As an LPN, you will be part of an interprofessional healthcare team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Guided by your education, experience, and AHS policies, you will deliver safe, quality, patient- and family-centered care, aligned with AHS values.
Minimum Salary: $28.93, Maximum Salary: $37.90
Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited LPN program, active or eligible registration with CLPNA, current BCLS-HCP certification.
Additional Qualifications: Perioperative certification recognized by CLPNA, ability to stand for long hours, lift over 50 pounds, wear lead aprons, basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years in an inpatient surgical unit, OR experience, job shadowing in OR, teamwork and communication skills.
