Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Surgery/Zone Programmatic Lead Surgery/MDRD, the Clinical Support Business Manager is responsible for providing leadership, analysis and direction in the initial development and ongoing maintenance of multiple line items with an annual multi-million-dollar value. The critical items are acquired, held, monitored, managed and distributed in the Surgical Suites and MDR for hospital wide use. Overall responsibility and accountabilities include direction and leadership for Surgical Services supply chain delivery model, effectively, safely and efficiently acquire, manage and distribute materials and equipment, inventory management, compliance, monitoring, analysis, risks and reporting of quality, performance and financial measures.

Description:

Directly interacts with Surgical & MDR clinical leadership, CPSM, and physicians to support equipment identification, prioritization, and procurement. Works closely with Department leadership to ensure full staff compliance with material processes and patient safety. The Clinical Support Business Lead approves and monitors vendor access, conduct, and interaction to areas and with surgeons and team members and alerts leadership and surgeons related to material risks/alerts/recalls avoiding potential patient impact and manages response to alert. The Clinical Business Lead manages project resources within a matrix reporting structure and communicates regularly with multiple stakeholders. Relationship management and communication are important components of the position. The Project Lead/Clinical Business Manager appropriately applies change management and process improvement principles, knowledge and expertise. As well, the Lead/Clinical Business Manager must be committed to quality improvement and possess the skills to use data and information to effectively advance quality and innovation. Familiarity with healthcare environments contributes to success in the position.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working in a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
  • 2 - 5 years of progressive experience in project management and/or finance, including knowledge and training in project management principles, tools and methodologies.
  • Experience leading project teams and large projects within a healthcare organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
  • Experience with project management is required, including facilitation/coordination of project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Experience working directly with clinicians; comfortable communicating with physicians, other health care professionals and executives.
  • Demonstrated strength in verbal and written communication skills; ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated application of systems thinking, and change management.
  • Experience with MS Office suite (preferably including MS Project and Vision).
Additional Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a unique project environment where project resources and subject matter experts have limited availability to contribute; ability to move projects forward within these constraints.
  • Skill and experience in critical thinking, analysis, problem solving, negotiation, investigation and concerns resolution.
  • Motivated and adaptable team player with experience coordinating/leading teams.
  • Demonstrated ability and comfort with decision making and communication, and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships and partnerships with complex and varied internal and external individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Broad knowledge of healthcare systems, operations, and current healthcare issues.
  • Training in process improvement, change management, and health services planning is an asset.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate presentations and transfer knowledge.
  • Strong facilitation and mediation skills.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, business analysis, sales, operations, customer service, and Operating Room clinical operations.
