Job summary

Grasslands Public Schools in Brooks, Alberta, seeks qualified Elementary Classroom Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. Openings are available across multiple grades in three buildings with 1.00 FTE; Probationary status.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor of Education and a valid Alberta Teaching Certification and must provide a current CRC/VSC. Applications require a current cover letter, resume, and references.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Education is required.
• Valid Alberta Teaching Certification is required.
• Current Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) is required before start date.

Responsibilities

• Identify students’ learning needs and plan instruction accordingly.
• Deliver instruction based on student needs including special education considerations.
• Create a stimulating learning environment that supports growth for every student.
• Meet with parents to discuss student progress and needs.
• Evaluate and communicate student progress to stakeholders.
• Prepare remedial plans for students needing extra help.
• Collaborate with other professionals on student development and needs.
• Supervise extracurricular activities as needed; attend meetings and training.

Job Duties

• identify students’ individual and collective learning needs;
• plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs;
• provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to their potential;
• help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills;
• meet with parents;
• evaluate and communicate student progress;
• prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help;
• meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress;
• volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after‑school activities; and
• attend meetings, seminars and in-service training sessions.
