Job summary

Elgin Motor Freight, a division of Challenger Motor Freight, is based in London, Ontario. We are seeking Owner Operators to run 300–500 miles from the terminal, with lanes east of the Mississippi including NJ, PA, VA and beyond. You must be 21+, have at least 1 year of verifiable CV driving experience, a clean record, and a valid Class AZ license.

FAST CARD required and strong safety focus essential. We offer competitive per-mile rates, biweekly direct deposit, and benefits like shop discounts

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• One year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience.
• Criminal record search required (no offences under Criminal Code).
• Zero convictions or out-of-service events on CVOR abstract preferred.
• Valid Class AZ driver’s licence and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate as an Owner Operator within a 300–500 mile radius from the London, ON terminal.
• Adhere to safety and legal requirements with a focus on reliability and customer service.
• Coordinate with dispatch to optimize load planning and delivery times.

Job description

Elgin Motor Freight is adivision of Challenger Motor Freight.

This position in based out of London, ON.

Owner Operators run a 300 – 500-mile radius from the terminal. Lanes of travel are states east of the Mississippi river, including East Coast States, mainly NJ, PA, VA, Mid West some 401 corridor including Greater Montreal. All dispatches are done in a priority sequence based on driver, customer, and load requirements. There is no forced New York City (Boroughs) dispatch.

Our expectation is to have a minimum of 5 full days of 24-hour availability or more. We like to run you according to your available hours and within legal requirements, which could mean running over the weekend.

Driver requirements:

• Minimum 21 years of age
• One year of verifiable commercial vehicle driving experience *
• Clean driving record
• Maximum three demerit points (preferred)
• Zero convictions or out-of-service events on CVOR abstract (preferred)
• Criminal record search (no offences under Criminal Code of Canada)
• Valid ClassAZdriver’s licence
• Professional attitude and desire to be part of an award-winning team
• A FAST CARD is a requirement for this division
