Job summary

Breakthrough T1D is seeking an experienced Development Manager to lead fundraising initiatives across Ontario, including Walks and Rides. You will build donor relationships, manage a fundraising team, and drive revenue growth while aligning regional plans with national goals.

The role requires 5–6 years in fundraising, a business/fundraising degree, and strong leadership, communication, and peer-to-peer fundraising experience.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years of progressive fundraising experience, including team management.
• University or college degree in Business Management, Fundraising or related discipline.
• Experience working on peer-to-peer fundraising events.
• Excellent people management and leadership skills; ability to coach, develop and mentor staff.
• Strong written and oral communication with external constituents and staff.
• Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising software (e.g., AKA Raisin) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Execute national fundraising strategies for Breakthrough T1D Walk, Ride and other programs in Ontario to meet revenue goals.
• Develop and implement regional business plans aligning with national objectives and growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with sponsors, partners, volunteers, and supporters to strengthen outcomes.
• Build relationships with donors, volunteers, and community supporters to increase engagement and revenue.
• Identify and cultivate mid-level, leadership, planned, corporate, and foundation donors.
• Develop and implement annual giving and donor stewardship strategies to deepen engagement.
• Provide support and strategic direction to a fundraising team across multiple markets; train, motivate and monitor staff.
