Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Field Operations Coordinator to lead health and safety initiatives and partner with management to maintain a safe workplace in North America. You will drive HSMS improvements, design safety trainings, and coach front-line teams onsite.

The role emphasizes collaboration with safety teams, incident investigations, and compliance with WorkSafe BC/provincial regs. A Diploma/Certificate in Health and Safety and strong MS Office skills are required, with a 20% travel expectation

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the GVA Aggregate Management Team and the Health & Safety Team to implement and drive ongoing improvement of health, safety, and loss control systems and processes.
• Design and deliver safety-related training modules, including site-specific materials such as orientations and toolbox talks.
• Maintain a consistent onsite presence to provide real-time coaching and mentoring to front-line employees and leadership.
• Assist management in reviewing Health and Safety Improvement Plan objectives, identifying key areas for improvement, and developing targeted action plans.
• Develop and support safe work processes for operational, maintenance, and manufacturing activities, with a focus on high-risk tasks.
• Manage safety documentation in platforms such as iCare and Avetta, conducting audits and following up on findings.
• Lead or support workplace incident investigations and ensure documentation and follow-up actions.
• Provide expert guidance on OH&S legislation and Amrize’s safety standards.
• Contribute to industrial hygiene initiatives addressing exposure risks (e.g., silica, dust, asbestos, noise, heat).
• Promote a culture of safety and adherence to policies across all environments.
