Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking a Construction Management Field Specialist to oversee the safe delivery of track‑related construction projects within the GO Expansion program across the GTHA, reporting to the Senior Manager, Construction Management Field.

This role requires site presence with a rotating shift including nights and weekends, travel between project sites, and collaboration with Delivery Teams, Operations, and stakeholders to ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Trades, Occupational Health and Safety or related discipline (asset).
• Progressive experience in planning, design, construction, safety, and administration of infrastructure or large projects (railway experience asset).
• Valid Ontario G driver’s license required to travel to site locations with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Undertake site coverage with a focus on safety, quality, environment and compliance.
• Oversee handovers/inspections between Delivery Teams and asset operators/maintainers.
• Monitor day-to-day construction activities and review workplans, permits and access requirements.
• Coordinate overlapping works among contractors, Delivery Teams, Operations and stakeholders.
• Track site progress and report against schedules using daily site reports.
• Provide PM-level input into schedules, policies, standards, and safety practices.
• Engage in regular safety activities with contractors and project teams to identify and resolve concerns.
• Identify and resolve health and safety incidents; escalate as needed to management.
• Develop relationships with consultants and contractors to ensure regulatory compliance and safety.
