Job summary

Randstad Canada’s client seeks an embedded software engineer specializing in BSPs and low-level bootloaders for an onsite contract in Canada’s capital region. You will develop foundational software for infotainment, connectivity, and automotive hardware, with hands-on Linux and QNX kernel/internal work and ARM-based platforms.

The role emphasizes silicon bring-up, secure boot routines, and driver development, collaborating across hardware and software teams to ensure robust, maintainable code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE or related field.
• 4+ years of dedicated professional experience in BSPs (Linux/QNX) and bootloaders.
• Proven hands-on experience completing at least 2 full target board bring-ups.

Responsibilities

• BSP & Bootloader Development: design and implement BSP features and low-level bootloader components; create secure boot functionality.
• Hardware Bring-Up & Peripheral Driver Engineering: develop drivers for UART, I2C, SPI, CAN/CAN FD and bring-up new hardware.
• Testing, Validation & Collaboration: assist with verification, unit tests, and system troubleshooting; maintain Git/SVN workflows.
