Job summary

QNX, a division of BlackBerry, is seeking driver developers to design and implement next-gen computing platforms for automotive customers. You will work on software drivers for new hardware peripherals across advanced platforms, focusing on reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.

The role demands C/assembly proficiency, embedded OS experience, and prior driver work, with exposure to ISO26262/IEC61508 safety standards. Eligible for a challenging, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Established software development experience.
• In-depth knowledge of C and Assembly programming languages.
• Hands on development experience using embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux, GreenHills, VXworks preferred).
• Prior experience in driver development is essential.
• Experience writing software for major processor architectures (ARM, x86, PPC, etc.).
• Hands on experience in the development of software following either safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508 etc) or MIL standards would be a standout skill.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement drivers to support next-generation hardware peripherals.
• Develop BSPs including board bring-up and performance tuning.
• Create software with a focus on reuse, efficiency, and simplicity.
• Work on safety-critical software environments and standards compliance.
