Job summary

Stevenson & White in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Accountant for a one-year full-time contract with strong potential for extension.

Reporting to the Controller, you will complete YTD reconciliations, manage AR/AP/GL and payroll clearing, and ensure accuracy across cash, HST and deferred revenue accounts. A CPA designation is preferred; 4+ years of full-cycle accounting are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting.
• CPA designation or in progress considered an asset.
• Minimum 4 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within a small to mid-sized business environment.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete YTD reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and post correcting entries across cash, clearing, Visa, HST, and deferred revenue accounts
• Reconcile and document AR/AP/GL and payroll clearing accounts, ensuring transactions are accurate and properly supported
• Reconcile revenue to contracts and ensure equity balances are accurately calculated and documented
• Review transactions across systems, identify discrepancies, and make appropriate corrections to maintain accurate financial records
• Maintain organized and consistent reconciliation processes and supporting documentation

Education

Post-secondary education in finance and/or accounting

CPA designation or in progress

4+ years progressive, full-cycle accounting experience
