Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services in Toronto seeks a corporate accountant to own month-end and year-end close for a multi-entity organization. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and produce financial statements in line with US and Canadian accounting standards.

You will support A/P, A/R, and vendor reconciliations, including cross-border considerations for US subsidiaries, and collaborate with auditors on reporting, tax compliance, and controls improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment with knowledge of US and Canadian accounting principles.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables; comfortable with accounting software in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

About the Opportunity

• Own month-end and year-end close for a multi-entity organization, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation in line with internal policies and applicable accounting standards
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and vendor reconciliations, including reconciliation support for US-based subsidiaries and cross-border accounting considerations
• Partner with cross-functional teams and external auditors on financial reporting, audit preparation, tax compliance, and process improvements to accounting controls

About You

• A progressive accountant with 4+ of experience in a corporate or multi-entity environment, with a solid grasp of both US and Canadian accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables, and comfort working with accounting software in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the analytical and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team; CPA designation or progress toward one is an asset

Pay Range

$40 - $45 per hour

You must currently reside within the Greater Toronto Area and be permitted to work in Canada to be considered for this opportunity.
