Job summary

University Health Network (UHN) is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 15A Inpatient Leukemia unit at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. The role is 22.5 hours per week, temporary part-time with a one-year contract, and the site is the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

The RN delivers compassionate, collaborative care, performs head-to-toe assessments, administers blood products and IV meds, and may participate in chemotherapy administration through the DeSouza Institute.

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
• Flexible and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the position.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and decision-making skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• BScN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Providing compassionate, collaborative and competent nursing care in line with UHN standards.
• Adhering to professional and ethical guidelines.
• Pursuing continuing education to meet patient needs and professional standards.
• Performing head-to-toe assessments and nursing duties as assigned.
• Administering blood products and IV medications via central venous access.
• Chemotherapy administration offered through DeSouza Institute.
