This is a hybrid role - onsite presence at our Toronto office will be 10 days or more per month (or at least 50% of the time), determined in collaboration with your manager and based on business needs. This role may require up to 10-15% travel.

At Lilly Canada, we have different levels of Brand Manager positions based on the candidate’s experience, background, and qualifications.

The expected compensation is: Associate: $70,500 - $103,400 Brand Manager: $91,500 - $134,200 Sr Brand Manager: $111,750 - $163,900

Responsibilities

Eli Lilly Canada is currently searching for a capable Brand Manager to help people living with cancer benefit from our innovative medicines. The oncology business in Canada is at an exciting time for a marketer who is keen to exercise fresh and innovative thinking and consider new ways driving performance. As the successful candidate, you will play a critical role in maximizing brand sales, and market position. This includes being accountable for delivering our annual plan and supporting all commercial brand activities. You will work closely with the cross functional team to lead the development and implementation of our brand strategy and tactics, including the development of the customer plan, and the omnichannel marketing plan. You will lead the development and implementation of digital marketing and sales strategies based on the identified needs and behaviors of key customers (Patients /Consumer, Health Care Providers, and Payers) that align to objectives outlined in the customer plans and objectives for the oncology business. In partnership with the Oncology Marketing Lead and Oncology Partnership Managers, you will develop novel approaches to reach our customers and deliver exceptional customer experiences, leading to improved patient outcomes and commercial success. You will be a person with a proven record of effective cross-functional collaboration, accomplishment in digital marketing capabilities and who can bring a fresh innovative approach to the team. You will be a self-starter, with a high sense of curiosity and an ability to foster a winning team mindset. Your will gain deep understanding of the disease site landscape, patients and health care providers’ needs, testing environment and other insights that drive behaviors in oncology treatment. You will develop novel content in close partnership with your cross-functional team, agencies and other partners (IT, medical, corporate affairs, legal, and external regulatory bodies ASC and PAAB) and will localize some content created by the regional or global teams. You will be responsible for managing the brand marketing budget and be able to make trade-offs to optimize investments. Finally, you will effectively measure the impact of initiatives against pre-specified goals. This role is expected to collaborate across business units and cross functionally to leverage learnings and insights to help achieve continued growth and success in our overall digital marketing capabilities and effectiveness. Specifically this Brand Manager is responsible to:

  • Build a near and long-term digital customer engagement plan for the oncology portfolio
  • Gain deep customer insights across patients and Health Care Professionals (HCPs) involved in the management of cancer care in the associated tumor types, including insights on testing requirements and capabilities
  • Integrate multiple sources of data (qualitative, quantitative) to optimize and continuously improve tactical plans to achieve brand objectives
  • Develop and lead HCP marketing and sales solutions for based on key HCP insights that align to organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including but not limited to Medical and PSP in developing solutions and strategies to meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with Marketing Lead and Oncology Partnership Managers (OPM) to develop novel and innovative tactics that allow Lilly to communicate and partner with HCPs through technology
  • Partner with OPM to engage HCPs and external stakeholders to uncover needs and develop solutions, including those for testing requirements
  • Manage all steps of the development process from initial concept to final product and performance measurement /analysis (including and not limited to working with sales, marketing, IT, market research, agency management, creative development, regulatory approvals, production, media planning, survey generation and communications)
  • Ensure that format and content provide optimal end user experience for patients/consumers via usability studies, heuristic reviews and end user surveys.
  • Coach OPM and business partners on the effective use and execution of digital solutions with customers (e.g. marketing technology, virtual meeting and engagement platforms), etc.)
  • Lead the execution of on and off-line promotional initiatives (websites, CRM, SEO, SEM, digital advertising, print and other promotional campaigns)
  • Optimize collaboration and synergies across our oncology brand portfolio
  • Partner with the Global and appropriate regional teams to ensure alignment on strategy and efficient use of common resources
  • New Channel Development
  • Identify optimal digital and omni -channel approaches for oncology portfolio
  • Investigate and make recommendations regarding the appropriate use of social media channels
  • Create new capability pilot plans and execute through effective project management
  • Roll-out established new capabilities to the related business functions (brand teams, OPM etc.) with clear metrics to enable effective channel mix
  • Handle and develop key vendor relationships to enable the delivery of optimal digital solutions.
Basic Requirements
  • University degree
  • Advanced degree preferred (MBA, MSc, PhD)
  • 3+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare marketing experience
  • Demonstrated experience in digital marketing and sales solutions and associated applications
  • Proven success with omni-channel marketing campaigns and using data to inform strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership within cross-functional teams - sales, medical, pricing reimbursement & access and other departments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Prefer experience in Oncology
  • Prefer bilingualism
  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and customer solutions

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $70,500 - $163,900 Full-time equivalent employees may also be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
