Job summary

Valard Construction is seeking an Onboarding & Field Recruitment Coordinator to support Edmonton or Calgary-based operations. You will lead end-to-end onboarding, coordinate logistics, and manage field recruitment across union and non-union environments.

Key duties include maintaining accurate HR records, handling dispatch with CBAs, and collaborating with payroll and field leadership to meet workforce demands. A strong HR background in high-volume settings is required.

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or related field plus experience.
• Minimum 3 years HR operations, onboarding in high-volume environments.
• Deep knowledge of CBAs, dispatch processes, and union environments.
• Full-cycle field recruitment including sourcing and screening.
• Proficiency with HRIS/ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end onboarding for field and corporate hires, ensuring compliance with CBAs and regulations.
• Coordinate onboarding logistics with HR, IT, payroll and hiring managers; be primary contact for new hires.
• Maintain audit-ready records across workforce classifications and improve onboarding workflows.
• Manage full-cycle field recruitment for union and non-union roles; build pipelines and coordinate events.
• Source candidates via trade schools, unions, and career events; screen, pre-employment steps, ATS records.
• Handle union dispatch requests, ensure compliance, and maintain dispatch logs.
• Support HR operations, payroll coordination, and workforce planning with internal teams.
• Prepare workforce reports and provide insights to HR leadership.
