Job summary

The Lark Group is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to support the HSE Manager in implementing and improving the LPL OH&S program across active projects. This hands-on role will be stationed on site as CSO, with travel between LPL projects as needed.

Responsibilities include safety planning, inspections, investigations, budgeting input, COR certification support, and first aid coverage. Requires CSO, First Aid, and strong communication skills, with a willingness to travel as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related field or equivalent safety experience.
• Minimum 5 years as a Construction Safety Officer or equivalent safety role.
• CSO certification required; CRSP an asset.
• Advanced First Aid certificate current (OFA Level 3) required.
• Familiarity with safety management software (Salus) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring the LPL OH&S program on projects.
• Support development and revision of OH&S procedures and safe work practices.
• Assist with pre-construction safety planning and site safety plans.
• Attend incidents, investigations and prepare reports; track corrective actions.
• Maintain safety equipment inventory and coordinate first aid resources.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits; report findings to HSE Manager.
• Coordinate training onboarding and mentoring for safety coordinators.
• Travel between project sites to provide safety coverage as needed.
