Job summary

NCDSB information technology team in Timmins, Ontario seeks an Information Technology Technologist to manage and secure the WAN/LAN and compute/storage/backup infrastructure, and to administer Microsoft 365 services. The role includes assisting with network design and maintenance and providing guidance on new solutions.

You will perform hands-on tasks across networks and services, coordinating maintenance across fourteen sites.

Qualifications

• Two-year college diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Systems and/or Networking.
• Minimum of three years of experience in computer engineering, computer systems or networking.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact with people in a pleasant, professional, and reassuring manner.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks to deliver multiple projects in a timely manner.
• Collaboration skills with the ability to work independently or as a member of team.
• Possess a valid Ontario driver’s license as travel between remote sites may be required.
• Accreditation in A+, CCNA, Cloud, CCNA Collaboration, CCNA Routing and Switching, CCNA Security and CCNA Wireless, and any Microsoft Azure certifications would be considered assets.

Responsibilities

• Manage and secure the NCDSB WAN & LAN network infrastructure across fourteen sites.
• Administer compute, storage and backup infrastructure; manage Microsoft 365 services and applications.
• Assist with design and maintenance of networks; provide guidance on new technological solutions.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and provisioning of networks, systems, devices and applications.
