Job summary

National Defence- Canadian Forces Housing Agency (CFHA) in Yellowknife seeks a Housing Projects and Maintenance Technician to oversee repairs, inspections, and maintenance across CFHA housing units. Responsibilities include planning work through service providers, supervising quality, and advising occupants.

The role requires experience in housing maintenance, code knowledge, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Education: secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
• Experience: renovating residential housing, inspections, maintenance or project management.
• Knowledge: cost estimating and codes/standards for residential construction.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess and document repair and maintenance requirements for CFHA housing units.
• Plan, organize and implement repair work through service providers and prepare work orders.
• Oversee completion of repairs in line with contracts and standards.
• Conduct inspections of housing units and equipment for maintenance needs.
• Provide customer services and elaborate maintenance plans and schedules.
• Guide service providers and housing occupants with systems and repairs.
• Perform minor repairs and source materials/tools as needed.
• Prepare technical documentation and support capital asset projects with external providers.
• Contribute to life cycle planning and betterment projects for housing units.
