Job summary

Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife, NT is seeking a Senior Hotel Maintenance Technician to maintain mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and the building envelope. You will work under the Maintenance Manager to ensure safe, comfortable, and well‑maintained guest areas, back‑of‑house spaces, and exteriors.

The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Certification in HVAC or plumbing, has strong troubleshooting skills, and can work independently with excellent problem‑solving and communication

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Certification in HVAC, Plumbing, or related trade.
• Candidates must reside in Yellowknife, NT, or be willing to relocate to Yellowknife.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on hotel mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently and effectively.
• Complete general maintenance throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior grounds.
• Carry out drywall repairs, painting, carpentry, and minor renovation projects.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
• Conduct routine inspections of building systems, equipment, and property assets.
• Assist with seasonal maintenance and exterior property upkeep.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order records.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
• Support the Maintenance Manager with ongoing projects and operational requirements.
