Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada in Vancouver is hiring a Resource Specialist to plan and organize technical resources for content production, aligning with schedules and budgets. The role oversees personnel, facilities, and equipment across pre-, production and post- phases, delivering quality broadcasts on time.

The candidate will forecast and assign resources, manage cross-platform requirements, and work with multiple departments to maintain seamless operations.

Qualifications

• College diploma in radio and television production or equivalent practical industry experience.
• Experience with TV, radio and digital production workflows.
• Familiarity with ScheduLINK and iNews is an asset.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace tools.
• Knowledge of audio and video feed systems (NGCN, satellite, Dejero) is an asset.
• Fluency in French required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior managers, producers, department heads and technical producers on short- and long-term production planning.
• Actively participate in planning meetings and address special requests.
• Recommend cost-saving measures and operational efficiencies.
• Resolve resource conflicts to ensure productions have required facilities and support services.
• Oversee production activities and adjust to timeline changes or new needs.
• Ensure broadcasts meet technical quality standards and rectify issues promptly.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain seamless operations and resolve technical issues.
• Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot equipment failures or signal disruptions to minimize downtime.
• Train team members on operating procedures and best practices for broadcast systems and equipment.
• Ensure proper gathering and ingestion of audio/video assets according to standards and workflows.
• Coordinate sharing of assets across internal teams and platforms, including CBC.
