Job summary

The Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking a Casual, on-call Solid Waste Site Scale Attendant to support the Solid Waste and Compost Site operations in Grey County. The role requires a high school diploma, landfill experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.

You will operate the scale and related equipment, receive waste materials, and provide coverage during vacation or leave for year-round staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year experience in a similar role, specifically with relevant landfill experience.
• Exceptional organizational skills, including task prioritization, multi-tasking, and effective time management.
• High level of personal integrity and strong work ethic.
• Professional and mature demeanor, especially under stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Town's solid waste scale and related equipment.
• Receive waste materials at the Solid Waste and Compost Site.
• Provide vacation/leave coverage for year-round staff as a casual, on-call role.
