Job summary

Stoney Education Authority is seeking qualified Substitute Teachers to provide classroom coverage across SEA schools as needed. This casual, on-call role supports continuity of instruction when a regular teacher is absent, delivering lesson plans and maintaining routines at multiple SEA locations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (Interim or Permanent).
• Strong classroom management, communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt to different grade levels, subjects, and student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Willingness to work respectfully with Stoney Nakoda students and community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lesson plans and materials for the assigned class.
• Follow routines and directions from the regular teacher and school staff.
• Maintain active supervision of students during instruction and transitions.
• Support diverse learning needs in accordance with approved plans.
• Collaborate with Educational Assistants and other staff.
• Take attendance and complete required documentation.
• Communicate significant concerns to the Principal or Designate.
• Maintain student confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Support Stoney Nakoda language, culture, and community connections.
• Participate in cultural, land-based, or outdoor learning when assigned.
