Job summary

North Vancouver School District is seeking a Custodian On-Call to keep our schools clean, safe and well maintained. The role involves routine custodial tasks, securing the building at night, and assisting with minor repairs as needed.

You will work with students, staff and the public, and participate in the district's recycling program. A flexible on-call schedule is offered, with shifts either day or evening.

Qualifications

• English fluency to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff and the public.
• Up to three months related janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine janitorial and custodial tasks, including cleaning, waxing hallways and stairs.
• Secure the school at night and ensure adequate heat and light.
• Refer to supervisor for non-routine problems and assist with minor repairs.
• Lock/unlock rooms, move furniture or equipment and provide facility information.
• Assist with and maintain the recycling program.
