Job summary

Equans is seeking a Maintenance Generalist based in Toronto to respond to work orders, perform preventative maintenance, and oversee building systems. You will coordinate with occupants, contractors and operators to ensure safe, efficient building operation.

The role requires multi-tasking, problem-solving, and hands-on experience with HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and related systems in industrial or office buildings. Immediate start and on-call availability are needed.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in Canada.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Carpentry, Painting-Drywall, Locksmithing, and Automatic door Controls is an asset.
• Minimum five (5) years relevant experience in industrial/office buildings.
• Experience in Building Automation System; healthcare environment is an asset.
• Excellent initiative and troubleshooting skills; good problem-solving abilities.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of QFM or similar CMMS.
• Sound knowledge of HVAC and boiler systems.
• Ability to Work at Heights; ladders and lifts.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Valid Drivers license “G” with access to vehicle.
• Ability to provide a clear CIPC check.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable codes.
• Adhere to health, safety, and security procedures on site.
• Execute all preventative maintenance tasks as prescribed on equipment and systems.
• Collaborate with occupants, contractors and building operators for safe operation.
• Maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Perform inspections and tests on systems and equipment; document readings.
• Assist in testing fire protection equipment and systems.
• Assist in conducting required fire drills.
• Ensure PPE compliance and supervision of contractors on site.
• Respond to after hours emergencies as required.
