Job summary

Seabird Island Band is seeking an On-Call Education Assistant to support student learning, wellbeing, and success at Lalme' Lwesawtexw Community School in Agassiz, BC. The role involves working with the Principal and teachers to deliver academic and life-skills assistance while honoring First Nations values and language.

You will collaborate with families and support professionals, help implement IEPs, and participate in school and community events.

Qualifications

• Education assistant certificate required or equivalent training.
• Experience in First Nations/Indigenous education setting is an asset.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support for academic, social, and life skills development.
• Assist with learning activities and individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Support students one-on-one and in small groups.
• Monitor and report student progress and learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom.
